Several words, actually.
I've picked knitting up again because I find great joy in creating things, and even more when those things are useful.
I am growing bored with simple stockinette patterns and garter stitches, so I've finally joined Ravelry and found my way to the Nymphalidea shawl. It's everything I want in my next project. A different shape, a little bit of lacy looking edge, and TWO COLORS. I've tried the pattern with some scrap yarn and I think I've pretty much got it down, so I'm getting ready to pull a couple skeins from my stash and get going.
But there is a roadblock. Balling the yarn. I HATE HATE HATE knitting off of a skein. It's not so bad if they're center pull, but as my luck would have it, of the colors I chose one was and the other was not. And of course being the oddball I am I have to have continuity, so I'm balling up both of these skeins. And this means that I have to unwind the one skein from the outside. I know, first world problems, right?
Anyhow, I'm going to finish winding this ball so I can go lay down, it's nearly 2 am and I have got to get back on a semi normal sleep schedule, and my back is killing me.
Link to the pattern here, since my phone is fighting me.
