Sitting in a bus station

Somewhere between home and Fort Hood, I'm dying to work on my thing some more but I just know that as soon add I'm in the middle of the row my bus will arrive and force me to stop in the middle of the needle-which I hate to do, as my dpns already leave a chance of losing stitches.

Hopefully I can get home and get some rest tonight before work tomorrow.

I should be able to put it in my pocket and work on it a lot the next few days

Want All The Yarn!

That's what I'm doing right now.  I've discovered the destash tag on Etsy and i can get all the scrap yarn i want to start trying out the fair isles patterns i want to do.

I also casted on a little hamster plush today,  i just have to figure out what i want to do for the eyes and the stuffing.

In other news,  it seems like every person i know who was single is now getting engaged.  Very frustrate, so annoy. I have to pretend that I'm sooooo happy for them when I really just want to barf.  The one guy betrayed a good friend of mine.  The other was dead set on marrying me for about two seconds.

I just hate people,  because they use social media to more or less compete it's like a never ending high school reunion.  And i just can't understand my attachment to these people who meant nothing to me when I saw them everyday,  now i haven't seen them in two and a half years and I'm affected by all these little things that i shouldn't give a rat's ass about.

Anyway i have my yarn and my needles, and I'm creating tons of things. I just want a less mindless pattern so i don't have to think so much about these dumb things that bother me.

A word about knitting

Several words, actually.

I've picked knitting up again because I find great joy in creating things, and even more when those things are useful.

I am growing bored with simple stockinette patterns and garter stitches, so I've finally joined Ravelry and found my way to the Nymphalidea shawl. It's everything I want in my next project. A different shape, a little bit of lacy looking edge, and TWO COLORS. I've tried the pattern with some scrap yarn and I think I've pretty much got it down, so I'm getting ready to pull a couple skeins from my stash and get going.

But there is a roadblock. Balling the yarn. I HATE HATE HATE knitting off of a skein. It's not so bad if they're center pull, but as my luck would have it, of the colors I chose one was and the other was not. And of course being the oddball I am I have to have continuity, so I'm balling up both of these skeins. And this means that I have to unwind the one skein from the outside. I know, first world problems, right?

Anyhow, I'm going to finish winding this ball so I can go lay down, it's nearly 2 am and I have got to get back on a semi normal sleep schedule, and my back is killing me.

Link to the pattern here, since my phone is fighting me.

Your Family

This may quickly evolve into a mini rant, so fair warning.

To the individual that justifies talking shit about someone because "that's my brother": that is exactly why you don't talk shit about that person, you ignoramus. It's not your place to tear them down, in fact, a family is supposed to be there to back you up and stand up for you when other people do that shit.

So when I ask if you would want someone to say those things to your significant other you cannot justify it by saying "That's different, she's my wife"  because it's not, in fact, it is exactly the same thing. You wouldn't let my boyfriend talk shit to your woman about you. I will not let you talk shit to me about him. End of story.

Rant over.

Thank you

Zendala Dare!

So I decided to do something a little different today. I took a zendala challenge (#66 off of this particular website) I have been zentangling for the fun of it for a while, and I have always loved drawing and coloring mandalas. It only makes sense to combine the two.

For those of you who don't know, a ZENTANGLE is an abstract drawing that is supposed to have no proper up or down, left or right. You can look at it from any angle, and it's still a picture. That said, here are pictures of the one I did for this challenge.

Black and White, I pulled some inspiration from other people who had done the same challenge. The fish scale pattern is one of my all time favorites.

With color. Also you can see on the top of this pic - One of the Prismacolor markers I used (My favorite medium) and a Sharpie pen, and the corner of Allegiant, by Veronica Roth. New favorite series.(Divergent, Insurgent, Allegiant)

So I might do some more of these, or I might not, I like them, but I typically don't share my art with the general public, because I feel like it spills just a little too much of my soul.
Enjoy!

Oh! and here's the link to the website where YOU can find and print Zendala Dare templates and join in the fun!
